We've done our best for four long
years, but the unnecessary obstacles and pointless burdens
heaped upon small businesses (and one or two less-than-stellar
business decisions by BakerGuy, I'm sure) have finally broken the
bank...we can no longer offer The Best Baklava You Can Buy to our
valued and much-appreciated customers. :(
I
know, I know, it's almost impossible to buy good baklava...or even
half-decent baklava!...on the internet or off. But if you don't
have a yiayia at home to bake real baklava for you (and if you don't
know someone who does), don't despair! We'll keep Baklava University in session for as long as we can (until they start taxing websites, too!).
So with a little reading and a little practice, you'll be making your own delicious baklava in no time!
And if you're a Real Baklava Insider's Circle member then rest assured: your information is safe with us, it's not going anywhere, and if we're ever able to offer Real Baklava for sale again, you'll be the first to know! :)
Good
wishes to all our awesome customers. Thank you
so much for your business, your support, and your love of real baklava
(no matter who makes it!). Maybe we'll see you around the 'net
sometime...?

You will see more
than our pictures can show you.
You'll draw in the
engaging scent of mild cinnamon, perfectly combined with the aroma of
baked nuts, pure sugar-and-honey syrup, and the barest hint of lemon
and orange essences.
Your teeth will break the paper-thin
texture of baked, buttered fillo dough, to penetrate into layers and
layers of fresh, delicious nuts.
And your tongue will
dance with the sugar, honey, and spices of our all-natural syrup as it
mixes with these exquisite textures, aromas, and flavors...until that
second moment when the pure butter, and only pure butter, melts on your
tongue...infusing you with the completion of the Real Baklava
Experience.
How can you know that
Real Baklava truly is "the real thing"? Without a trace of
corn syrup or breadcrumb fillers. Brushed with 100% sweet
cream butter instead of vegetable oil and "butter flavoring".
Served to you the way Yiayia and Papou always made it, better than any
packaged product you've ever tasted?
Our loyal customers
(one of whom we hope you'll soon be) do an excellent job of helping
others begin their own Real Baklava experience. Keep reading,
and decide if you agree...

"Growing up
I never acquired a taste for Bak. Living in Chicago, there are numerous
restaurants that offer Bak on their menu. I tried a piece and could not
finish it after only a couple of bites. I have a number of Greek
friends in my current life and have had a lot of home made Bak. I still
was not able to even try it, based on past experience.
This all changed when I had your Bak delivered to me. I had a sampling
of several different varieties. I have to tell you, I wish your bakery
was in my neighborhood. It would become a ritual for me to have Bak at
home all the time. The Bak I tasted, after one bite, I had to finish
the piece before I could quit. I was tempted to eat every piece I
received. Of course, I had to save a taste for the Wife, who just loves
Bak and always has. This was a mistake! Before I could stop her, she
had eaten the remaining Bak.
Your Bak was the best I have ever tasted. I am now spoiled and request
that you open a bakery here, in the Chicago suburbs (like near where I
live)." - Wayne, Illinois

"Real
Baklava is Boston's best kept secret. For a special celebration, a
dinner party, a hostess gift, or for any gift, you can't go wrong with
Real Baklava. The presentation is perfect, the price is right, and the
taste is scrumptious. It's better than mama and yiayia used to make. A
real winner." - Faye, Boston MA

"Before
this, I was never into Baklava. But the first time I tried Peasant
Bakers' Baklava, I was hooked! The sweet, flaky pastry melted in my
mouth... I brought some to a family party once and, from then on, I was
in charge of bringing the Baklava. Now, if I could just stop eating it
in the car on the way to the parties!" -Yvette,

Being half
Greek myself, I assumed I should like baklava, but indeed I didn't.
This was because every type I tried in the past was greasy or soggy.
However, when I tried "Real Baklava" I was taken by surprise. It was
light, flaky, and perfectly sweetened. I immediately ordered several
boxes of the stuff (hoping to distribute them among my friends here in
Kentucky), but many of the boxes suffered from "baklava loss" due to my
dipping-in to their boxes because mine had run out by the second
day...By the time my friends actually received their boxes of baklava,
they were smaller than I originally intended (and had to be creatively
repackaged). I would highly recommend this delicacy to anyone who has
been "jaded" by baklava in the past. You will be "peasantly" surprised!

Wow. This
baklava is incredible...better than the baklava I got in Greece! My
boyfriend introduced me to Real Baklava about two years ago. I brought
it to my family’s annual get-together and we couldn’t stop
talking about it! I also brought it to the office for our holiday party
and not only did everyone love it --people really appreciated that it
was...fresh and delicious unlike the donuts and cookies we usually get.
Thank you for making a great product! - Anna, Boston
